Costs for the trip:
1. Each team member is responsible for arranging their flight to and from Amsterdam.
2. We operate the entire five days out of Delft, in conjunction with our major partner in this experience, UNESCO-IHE, also called the Institute for Water Education.
3. Primary lodging is at the Best Western Museum Hotel in Delft, with overflow in other Delft hotels. We will arrange for a block of rooms, but reservations need made individually.
4. A "tuition/registration fee" of $2000 is charged for the trip. This covers:
A. Transportation costs for the group during official events.
B. About one half the meals of the five days. Breakfast is included in the hotel cost.
C. Administrative costs for development and execution of the program
Suggested Hotels in Delft (click on the links to go to their websites):
Bridges House - the Bridges House is one of the nicest hotels in Delft. Several team members last year stayed here and were very impressed.
Hotel Grand Canal - The Grand Canal was a warehouse for the Dutch East India Company in the 1500's and later became the city jail. Bars are still on the lower level's windows, which makes you feel right at home! Very historic setting and a good hotel. Breakfast is extra.
Best Western Museum Hotel - the only US chain in town. Good hotel but higher end. Rooms are bigger than normal.
Hotel Coen - One of the most reasonably priced hotels in Delft. Rooms are quite small, but adequate. Breakfast is vey good and included. It is located next to the train station, so if you want to stay here, request a room not facing the station as it is somewhat noisey. I stayed here last year and was fine.
Hotel De Vlaming- One of our favorites - similar to a bed and breakfast format in the US. Very small, but run by a very friendly family that makes the stay great.
